IDC History Class - The Tulip Chair

The Tulip chair was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1955 for Knoll.

It was designed primarily as a chair to match the complementary dining table.

The chair has the smooth lines of modernism and was experimental with materials for its time.

It is considered a classic of industrial design and one of the most important icons of furniture design history and has been inspiriting new concepts for 55 years.

Many copies are being produced but the original is still made by Knoll.
