With great pleasure and excitement, we went down to the Chelsea Harbour Design Centre yesterday to meet the great designer and artist Lori Weitzner.
An extremely accommodating hostess and a delightful presenter, she guided us through a “voyage” along her stunning new creation named Byzantine; the entire collection was inspired on the lights and colours inside the Hagia Sofia basilica, later a mosque and now a museum in Istanbul.
Lori is the principal and creative director of her own New York-based firm, she has achieved international renown with designs that cross a multitude of disciplines, her collections for Sahco have been described as fresh, quiet yet dramatic, emotive and profound, and complex in their apparent simplicity. Rich colour palettes and patterns that transcend cultures and time are prevalent throughout all Lori’s collections for Sahco.
